Cosmetic acupuncture is a non-invasive treatment that involves using acupuncture to improve skin and fight the aging process. It is also called “acupuncture facelift” or “natural skinl rejuvenation”. Cosmetic acupuncture is often applied as an alternative treatment to surgical, botox and filler injection to improve the appearance of the skin.
Cosmetic acupuncture can help reduce wrinkles, diminish fine lines, remove age spots, and lift up droopy eyelids. A course of cosmetic acupuncture treatment involve at least 10 sessions, as well as additional sessions for maintenance of results.
How does it work?
“Nourish the skin. Rejuvenate your body!”
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese technique of balancing vital energy flow throughout the body. This treatment aims to stimulate self-healing capacity of the body and improve overall health. During the treatment, the inserted needles at acupuncture points help regulate the energy flow. Moreover, these needles evoke micro trauma to subcutaneous tissues, which trigger the body healing them by increasing blood flow to the affected areas. As a result, more nutrient is supplied, more immune cells available help clear inflammation, more collagen and elastin is also produced for the skin regeneration. Besides, acupuncture also addresses other factors that affect the skins ageing process, such as hormon problems, immune problems and oxidative stress.
The goal of the treatment is to create positive long-term changes in the health of the skin and body, not a short-term quick fix. It leads to better collagen production, better blood and lympho circulation over the treated region so that the skin is revitalize and heal itself. After the treatments you can expect a healthy brightened skin tone, reduced jaw tension, reduced wrinkles and also a better relaxed moods.
Treatment benefits are including:
- elimination of some wrinkles and decrease in length and depth of others
- improvement of facial muscle tone
- improved skin texture with tighter pores
- decrease of facial edema
- decrease of sagging around the eyes, cheeks, chin, neck, upper hands, belly, thighs
How does it look like a treatment?
An overall health assessment and skin examination is conducted at the begining. Then the treatment starts with light skin massage and acupuncture (with special super thin needles) at certain places on the body. Ear acupuncture and nutrient/ moisture mask is also upon requested to complement the treatment result. The session focuses on skin bio-stimulation, activating its vital repairing and rejuvenizing process.
How long does it last?
One session lasts about 30 mins. It also depends on how big the skin problems.
How frequent should I go for the treatment? How much time is needed to see the effects?
Unlike Botox or dermal fillers, cosmetic acupuncture is not a quick, unnatural fix of the skin. It helps achive healthy body and healthy skin from inside. The effects therefore takes time to achieve, but it can bring really long term positive changes.
In general, improvements can be seen after just 5 sessions of cosmetic acupuncture. l would recommend at least 10 treatments course to achieve the longlasting effect. You should go twice a week. When you reach the desired stage, you can continue with the maintanance treatment, which is less intensive – 1 treatment in 1 week.
How much does it cost?
The cost of cosmetic acupuncture are the following:
Facial cosmetic acupuncture: 30 Euros/ session
Belly cosmetic acupuncture: 30 Euros/ session
Thigh cosmetic acupuncture: 30 Euros/ session
Hip cosmetic acupuncture: 30 Euros/ session
Cosmetic acupuncture is not only a safe treatment but also more affordable than surgery, botox or filler injections.
Is there any side affect?
Acupuncture is considered a very safe treatment, since its side effects are very rare. If you are being treated by a licensed experienced doctor, you do not have to worry about side effects. The most common side effect of cosmetic acupuncture is bruising. However, it only happends in around 3% of my patients. It is recommended that people with bleeding disorders, serious autoimmune diseases, high blood pressure, uncontrolled diabetes should not seek for this treatment.
What should I prepare before the treatment?
If you go for facial acupuncture treatment, please have your face free of make up. It is recommended to eat something before the treatment, too.
Is facial acupuncture better than Botox?
Each technique works differently to achieve the goal of more youthful complexion. Botox keeps your skin smooth by paralyzing the underlying muscular. However, its wonderful effect is short-term and basically repeated injections are given every 6 months. Besides, there are several potential adverse effects, some of which are quite severe, like asymmetries or loss of muscle movement.
Facial acupuncture is a more natural and longer term solution which helps the skin healthier from inside. It triggers micro-trauma to stimulate skin healing itself, increase in blood flow and production of collagen + elastin. Therefore it leads to reduction in wrinkles, improvement of skin tone. Moreover, acupuncture also bring other benefits such as a sense of relaxed, calm, better sleep, good mood, improved digestion and energy levels.

COSMETIC IMPLANT ACUPUNCTURE – ANTI AGING WITH KOREA BIO THREAD!
What is a cosmetic facial implant-acupuncture?
Cosmetic implant-acupuncture is a non-surgical skin rejuvenation solution, using biological threads to form a foundation for aging skin while increasing collagen production to help regain healthy, youthful and slim skin.
Advantage: create the network between biological threads under the skin to stimulate the production of new collagen, therefore reduce wrinkles without aesthetic surgery risk. Over time, the PDO Thread Lift procedure can be used to shape/reshape the face by lifting and supporting sagging structures. Because the threads are completely disolved over a 4 month period, the end result is a “remodeled” more youthful-looking appearance that can last for up to 4 months. The PDO Thread Lift procedure is ideal for people who want to avoid the risks associated with a surgical facelift and whom view their personal aesthetic needs as an on-going “work in progress.”
How is does it look like?
- Anesthesia: A lidocain-base cream is applied onto the skin at the treating area to reduce pain for patients during the treatment.
- Implanting threads: The doctor implant bio-threads to the subcutaneous fascia, forming a solid support frame under the skin.
Step 1: Examine skin and advise on each customer’s case
Step 2: Anesthetize and measure the skin for precise treatment
Step 3: The doctor conducts implant acupuncture. Time can take from 30-40 minutes depending on areas and individual case.
Step 4: Doctor then instruct you on post-operative care at home.
How effective is cosmetic implant-acupuncture?
The skin tightening effect may appears immediately after the treatment or in a few days without pain. Effects in general will be continuously in 4 months.
Change according to the recovery process after treatment:
It takes time for the skin to fully recover after treatment and start to generating collagen. Specifically, the recovery time last about 2 weeks (depending on the condition of the skin and how it react to the treatment).
- First week: At the sites insert the bio-thread, there may be slight bruising and swelling. In addition, in the treating area, there may be a feeling of tightness due to the effect of bio-thread.
- Second week: The swelling and bruising have significantly reduced. At this time, you can move your facial muscles freely and your skin start to get better.
For those who have very sensitive skin, the recovery time can last up to 3 weeks.
Are there any dangers or side effects?
PDO Thread Lift is a revolutionary new FDA-approved treatment for skin tightening and lifting and for “V-shaping” the face.
The procedure utilizes threads that are made of PDO (polydioxanone) material which is similar to the threads used in surgical stitches. After fully compatible with the body, the thread stimulate collagen production locally to help tighten and strengthen the skin.
However, some possible side effects are: pain, infection, incompatibility reaction, thread slowly dissolving. Side effects often appear right after the treatment and last no longer than 3-4 weeks. It is important to know that the risk of having side effects mostly depend on how good the skin care at home after implant acupuncture. For this, please read the instruction below “How to take care of skin after bio-thread treatment” and consult with our doctor for post-treatment skin care.
What type of thread is used in a skin tightening?
The threads used in skin rejuvenation are all bio-dissolvable threads. In our clinic, we use Bio Meyisun, 21 Century Healthy Beauty PDO (Polydioxanone) bio thread for lifting. The thread will gradually disolve while stimulate the growth of collagen under skin. Collagen formation helps the skin firm in the areas around the treated place.
Bio-Meyisun threads are inserted with a super fine needle and arranged using a radial technique, i.e. parallel or in a grid pattern. In this way, they does not only have a good lifting effect, but above all they stimulate the connective tissue cells in the most bio way! After a short time, new collagen will be synthesized, and within the first 2-3 weeks, you can experience big improvement in skin texture and elasticity!
Bio Meyisun is ideal for both face and body. It uses smooth monofilament of varying lengths (10mm to 140mm). Therapeutic indications include wrinkles around the forehead and around the eyes, as well as wrinkles on the nose and eyelids. It is also suitable for the treatment of the chin, the angle of the chin and the parts under the chin. Besides, Mono is also used on the abdominal area, thigh and sagging arms.
1 envelope contains 10 threads including a needle.
