What to do after unsuccessful natural conceive? What to do after unsuccessful IUI and IVFs? Why it was not sucessful after all test shown to be ready? Have followed all doctors’ advice, WHAT CAN I DO MORE?
My answer: Take a chance by acupuncture! It is shown to increase the chance of pregnancy by 15-26%!
These questions are faced by almost couples in their way towards a baby. Emotional stress is unevitable. It is has been proven that stress can harm the couple relationship, their social relationship, and even lower the chance to get pregnant in the following try. After unsucessful treatment, it is no doubt that women suffer from many kind of stress, such as sad, deny, angry, confuse, misrable, guity, depression, isolate from others, etc, yet do not know how to get out from it and how to prepare for the next try.
As a natural healer, I was looking for ways to help women improve their reproductive health and to improve their chance to success of conception. I have found that Acupuncture offers an excellent solution for infertily problem. Acupuncture is an effective natural treatment which originates from Traditional Chinese medicine. It has been used in Asia for thousand years and nowadays widely expands to the whole world. It restores the normal function of the body, increase the energy level and the function of different organs inside the body. In infertility treatment, acupunture can improve the reproductive health by bettering the health of oocyte and sperm, blood circulation of uterus and the harmony of hormone system. However, these effects do not happend in one day. Therefore Acupuncture need to be given months in advance of fertility assisted methods. The principle behind it is simple: if you wish to plan a tree, you have to prepare the soil, the seed, and the nourist environment for it. In case of fertility, they are the status of oocyte, sperm, womb, the function of hormon system, the well being of the body as well as related problems such as endometriosis, cysta, myoma, PCOS, etc. You have to prepare!
Why should I turn to acupunture?
Because it is an effective treatment for preparation before pregnancy. The body need to be in optimal condition to conceive and to nourist the fetus.
Most of couples searching for acupuncture after trying other treatments without success. Some others consider it as first option before trying with hospitals and medicines. No matter what choice you are looking for, there are 2 main aspect to consider for a success conception. First, it is the mechanical function of womb, oocytes, fallopian tubes, ovaries, sperm, endocrinhormon system. Second, the environment abdomen, the well being of the whole body (for instance, normal sleeping, good mood, normal digestion and secretion, no serious stress, etc). Modern medicine and modern technique can help with the first aspect, while acupuncture can help with the latter. In fact, althought IVF is the premium infertility treatment, its succesful rate is about 30-40% cases, means that it did not work in 60-70% cases. In these cases, it is worth trying to fix the problems of the body before trying IVF again. You may not know, but the acupuncturist can examine and treat you according to your individual problems. Even if there is no sufficient problems, acupuncture still can help you relax, reduce stress, and prepare your body for the next treatment.
It is emphasized again, that preparation is very importnant to get pregnancy and Acupuncture do help you prepare to fit with hospital treatments or to carry the pregnancy naturally. Certainly, acupuncture cannot guarantee that you will get pregnant, but researches have shown that when combine with other fertility treatments, acupuncture increased conception rates by 26%. A recent study from Tel Aviv University reports “When combining IUI with TCM treatments, 65.5% of the test group were able to conceive, compared with 39.4% of the control group, who received no acupuncture therapy. ( Source: Tel Aviv University, https://www.aftau.org/weblog-medicine–health?&storyid4704=1437&ncs4704=3). In another study published in 2002, a German fertility clinic offered 160 IVF women who had good-quality embryos an opportunity to participate in a study on acupuncture and IVF outcomes. Half of the women received acupuncture treatment, 25 minutes before and after embryo transfer. The control group did not receive any supportive therapy. In the acupuncture group, 42.5% (34 of the 80) patients got pregnant. In the control group, 26.2% (21 out of 80) got pregnant. (Pauluswe et al, Influence of acupunctureon the pregnancy rate, 2002, Fertility and Sterility, 77(4) 721-724)
To a conclusion, acupuncture is an proved effective method for treating infertility. You can turn to acupuncture whether you are on other treatments or not. It helps you prepare for better reproductive health, and therefore increase the chance for successful conceive.
